Kenwood TS-480 Power Meter Problem After changing the value, in 'service adjustment mode’, of menu #24, which sets the 200 Watt power output level, it is common to find that the front panel power output meter will not read above 100 Watts regardless of the actual RF output. There may be other causes of this problem, but the solution is the same. You need to do the following: 1. Go into the service adjustment mode menu and go to menu #24. (To learn how to access ‘service adjustment mode’, see * below.) 2. Change the power setting by a small amount - I changed mine from 166 to 167. 3. This is the secret... Press the PTT on the microphone! 4. Move the setting back to the one you wanted in the first place (166), then press the PTT again. 5. Go to menu #76 to save the setting by pressing the ^ button. 6. Leave service mode by pressing the MTR button. Your transmitter should be in SSB mode when doing the above. My thanks to SV1JRF who had this difficult to find solution on his website http://sv1jrf.blogspot.com/. 73 Nick EA7/G4GCP * How to access ‘service adjustment mode’: First, build what Kenwood calls an "adjustment jig" which is basically the six pin Data plug that came in the box with the radio. You will have to solder a small piece of wire from pin 3 to pin 6 of that plug, put the metal and plastic covers back and make it ready to be plugged at the rear of the radio in the accessory jack labelled "DATA". Now do the following procedure to get the adjustment menu: 1- Insert the assembled plug into DATA connector located on the transceiver front panel. 2- Turn the radio on while pressing the MIC and the NR keys to enter the adjustment mode; then you will see immediately the Menu # 00 in a small window left to the freq display that normally is used to show the memory channel. 3-Remove the DATA plug from the transceiver when the Menu number window appears. 4-Now rotate the MULTI knob clockwise slowly to the Menu # required. 5-To write the new setting to the EEPROM go to menu # 76 using the same MULTI knob. You will read EEPROM on the display. 6- Move the up arrow, the one used to move bands, and immediately the display will show "good" meaning the data was entered to the EEPROM. 7-To exit the adjustment mode, just click on the MTR key and the job is done.

Benim Kenwood TS-480 cihazımda ki problemim sadece power göstergesi çıkış gücünü yanış gösteriyordu. Şöyleki watt metre ile ölçtüğümde herşey normal olmasına rağmen cihazın kendi göstergesi 

Power 50 watt yaptığımda wattmetre 50 watt gösterirken ciha 60 watt gösteriyordu.

power 100 watt yaptığımda wattmetre 100 watt gösteriyor cihazın göstergesi 200 watt gösteriyordu.

Yani  cihazın wattmetresi yanlış gösteriyordu. 

Ben sadece Servis Modunu yani hidden menüyü sadece bunu düzeltmek için kullandım.

Bu çalışmayı ben sadece 200 watt lık cihaz için uyguladım.

Servis moduna girdikten sonra 24 numaralı menüye geldim ekranda bir değer gösterecek bu değeri yukarı ok tuşuna bas ve değer değiştikten sonra PTT tuşuna bas sonra aşağı oku tuğuna basarak tekrar eski değeri gör ve tekrar PTT tuşuna bas. Daya sonra bu değişikliği hafızaya almak için meni 76 gel ve Yukarı ok tuşuna tekrar bas ekranda goog yazısını gör. Servis Modundan çıkmak için MTR tuşuna bas.

İşte bu kadar cihzın power göstergesi calibre edilmiştir.

NOT servis moduna girmek için DATA connectörünün 3 ve 6 numaralı bacakları kısa devre edildikten sonra cihaz kapalı durumda iken MIC tuşuna + NR tuşuna basılı tutarat açma tuşuna basarak cihazı açınız.

Hepsi bukadar.
